Introduction:

Most often, at some point in our child's life, they will be assessed either at school or privately.  If your child is entering into grade three, they will undergo a group administered IQ assessment for giftedness.  Sometimes parents like to have a formal IQ test done privately.  The most commonly used and widely accepted test is the Weschsler Intelligence Scale for Children, although with the highly gifted, this test does have its limitations, as you will find out below. 

It is important for you to familiarize yourself with the tests that your child may be exposed to.  Below, you will find links to those who can provide an assessment privately (psychologists) and information on the tests themselves.
