Introduction:

In the following page you will find some useful links for the most common IQ and Achievement tests that you are likely to come across.  While the Stanford Binet (Form - LM) is the most appropriate test for the highly gifted, it is not normally accepted by the school boards because the test itself is out of date (unfortunately) and also available to the general public.  Because of these reasons, it is assumed to be unreliable.

* Please check with your local school board prior to seeking out private testing to ensure that the tests you will have completed are acceptable as admissible for the purposes of designating your child as 'gifted'.  If you have already completed testing, understand that even if the tests are not accepted by your board as qualifiers for the official designation of 'giftedness', that they still may provide very useful information when developing a suitable program for your child in school.

Don't Throw Away the Old Binet

Another article outlining the uses of the SB - LM.  Makes you wish that the school boards would accept this test (that is, if you could find an assessor in Ontario that would be able to administer it!)

Stanford-Binet IV, of Course! Time marches on.

As we don't often hear about the SB-IV, I thought this article to be particularly informative.  It outlines the limitations of the SM-LM and the advantages of the 'newer' SB-IV.  Rumour has it, however, that there is a SB-V coming out on the horizon.
