Testing Procedures to enter into the Grade 5 Gifted Program (as of May 2003)
The gifted
program offered in the York Region Catholic School Board is a
congregated program from Grades 5 through 8. Admission criteria
includes schores on the EQAO, CTBS, CCAT and an intelletual
assessment. The crieria is avererage scores of 3/4 in EQAO, 95%
average scores on both the CCAT and the STBS. The WISC score
must be over 98%. We will endevor to update this information as
it becomes available to us. It is advisable to contact your
school as early as possible regarding the current assessment
procedures for identification of giftedness as procedures may change. Public Elementary Schools that offer gifted elementary programming (Grade 5 through 8) in York Region Catholic School Board: 1. St. Gregory in Woodbridge 2. St. Elizabeth Seton in Newmarket 3. St. Anthony in Thornhill 4. St. Justin Martyr in Unionville Transportation is provided for students who attend these schools for the gifted program.
